The Four Seasons - a review of a year in kits, and a freebie

Happy Christmas Eve!

Today I want to show you four boards I made with Ruby Lane's kits, grouped by seasons, as a review of the fantastic work she's done this year and a reminder that more good things will be coming with the new year!

All these kits are for sale exclusively at Ruby Lane's store at Funky Playground Designs, where she is an exclusive designer.

I am very excited about this next announcement: on January 1st Ruby Lane will release a new collection called Every Day Matters, targeted towards project 365 and project 52 scrappers. I talked to Ruby Lane about this new and exciting line and this is what she had to say about it: "It will consist of a line of basics: paper packs, templates, etc. and monthly mini-kits complementing the basics. I am so excited about this project! The idea is to make it easy for those scrappers doing projects 365 or 52! These projects take time and imagination, I hope my new line will take the guesswork out of creating those fantastic memories. Because every day matters and Ruby Lane Designs makes it easy to record those memories..." This line will be available exclusively at Ruby Lane's store at Funky Playground Designs. And here is a special sneak peek of the January mini-kit, releasing January 1st:

Ruby Lane has created this mini kit as an early Christmas present for all of you and you can download it here:

Three new releases and a freebie

Happy Friday!

I hope you all had a fantastic week and are ready for some R+R during the weekend!  They say things come in threes...and Ruby Lane's products are no exception!  This week she is releasing three fantastic new products:

First up, a new collaboration with Elise's Pieces called Vintage Christmas.  Here is the preview of the full kit and of the paper pack included in the kit:

What can I say about this fantastic kit that you are not already seeing in the previews?  This is pure and traditional - vintage - Christmas!  The perfect kit to scrap about your family's Christmas traditions, the pictures with Santa when the kids are all decked out, the formal family dinner...Look at the beauty of the papers!  The colors scream traditional Christmas: dark reds, greens, golds...in several patterns and hues.  And the elements?  So incredibly ornate and luxurious...like fine velvet or brocade!  Just gorgeous!  There are bits of lace and jeweled ornaments, holly and silk, bells and tags, ribbons and bows, fabric flowers and greenery, vintage postcards and golden elements...and two full alphas!  This is a classic Christmas kit, with everything we have come to expect from a traditional Christmas scene.  This beauty is for sale at Ruby Lane's store at Funky Playground Designs.

Here are a few of my favorite layouts with this kit by Ruby Lane's creative team (I could only post four layouts here because we have so much to cover today, but I encourage you to visit Ruby Lane's gallery for more inspiration!):

Next we have another Christmas kit, Home for Christmas, less dramatic and in a softer color palette but equally gorgeous:

This kit was inspired by all the family traditions that make the holidays so special...whether it is baking goodies, sitting by the fireplace, exchanging gifts or giving to charity, sharing a wonderful meal..."Home is where the heart is" and "All hearts come home for Christmas" ...enjoy the sweet traditions you share with your families and then create memories that last forever by scrapping the pictures. The kit includes a beautiful stamp tree, several gorgeously wrapped presents, ornaments and a star for the tree, ribbons, frames and flowers, two beautiful borders, wordart labels, two tags and a full alpha, plus 14 patterned and/or textured papers.  If you subscribe to Ruby Lane's newsletter - which I highly encourage you to do - you received a beautiful quickpage created with this kit exclusively for her newsletter subscribers.  For a little more inspiration, here are some layouts by Ruby Lane's creative team:

The last of the products being released this week is a new Commercial Use product by Ruby Lane, available exclusively at Funky Playground Designs; it is her December CU Grab Bag and here is the preview:

And now for the weekly freebie created by Ruby Lane exclusively for her blog followers.  It is an absolutely gorgeous quickpage created with the kit Vintage Christmas, and you can download it here:

New kit Merry&Bright, Funky Days of December and a freebie!

Good morning!

We have a lot to cover today, so let's get right to it!

The newest kit by Ruby Lane to hit the store - and remember that she is now an exclusive designer at Funky Playground Designs - is Merry&Bright:

and the cluster set:

I just finished playing with this kit - and oh.my.God!  The colors are so fun and lively and yes, Christmasy, but in a non traditional way - in spite of all the snowflake elements this would be a perfect Christmas kit for warmer places or to design those Christmas cards that have beach or Summer vacation pictures...which are always hard to find.  But even if you live in a cold, cold place this is the kit for you!  Snowflake papers and snowflake scatter and snowflakes abound.  Mix them up with the incredibly cute Christmas trees (three of them!), the ribbons and bows and strings and the string of Christmas lights and you are all ready for Santa!  It also includes a gorgeous snowman - cute as can be! - and a mitten in bright blue.  And cute labels that include "cookies", "milk", "Christmas cutie"; a beautiful wordart cluster that reads "Merry & Bright", flairs and buttons, tags and journaling tags...you name it, this Christmas kit has it!  And the 14 beautiful papers will make the perfect background for your layouts:  from the solids in pink, blue, green, and light cream to the incredibly beautiful patterns in all the color combinations...And if you are pressed for time, the cluster set comes to the rescue with some gorgeous and creative items that will help you finish a beautiful layout in no time.

Here are some layouts from Ruby Lane's creative team:

And now to our weekly freebie for all of you - Ruby Lane has created a freebie QP from her Merry & Bright layout above, and you can grab it here:
