My team and I have been baiting you for a few weeks about big news for Ruby Lane. Well today is the day to reveal that news to you! But first, let me give you a little history... a little over a month ago I was contacted by the legal team of an online store that felt my design name was in infringement upon their trademark. After much research, and a few consultations - it was determined that though this company really did not have the grounds to make such a demand, and furthermore they are missing an incredible opportunity for cross promotion - never the less Ruby Lane will be going away! Starting today, Ruby Lane Designs is now just little ol me - designs by Amber Shaw. All of the previous content from the Ruby Lane blog has been imported to this blog as well so you will not have missed anything!
To celebrate I have created a mini kit available in both of my stores AND I have created an add on that I am giving away for a limited time on my NEW Facebook Fan page! Additionally I have released the 1st of many pieces to the Project 1440 Collection. Be sure to grab them while thye are on sale! I'm not done yet!!! I am having a Giveaway! Amber, it was so kind of you to change your design title even though you may not have had to do it. As a published decorative artist and designer, I've had a few friends who also came across this issue and things did not go well. Life is too short for issues like this and I admire you for changing--besides, we all know your real name, now!! Thank you for the FB freebie and for the opportunity to win your new goodies. ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone who has left a comment. I too hope that the new year and your new name will bring you loads of new customers and lots of good fortune. It always makes me sad when one person (or business) picks on another and causes pain and inconvenience, but at the same time I am uplifted when the person being harassed responds in a gracious, graceful manner, as you have done. You have definitely emerged as the wiser person, and you are the winner in my eyes as a result of this engagement of legal wills. May God bless you in all that you do!
